چکیده
Elastic wave velocity in a soft fiber that varies depending on material constitution and axial stress level is an essential measure of mechanical signals many technical applications. In this work, based the small-on-large theory, we establish model linear elastic propagation finitely pre-stretched fiber. The formulas longitudinal (L-) transverse (T-) velocities are provided validated by numerical simulations as well experimental data spider silk. influences constitution, compressibility, pre-stress investigated. We found with increasing pre-stress, variation L-wave highly relies concavity stress–strain curve. contrast, increase T-wave exhibits regardless any constitutive model. For both L- T-waves, more significant compressible than nearly-incompressible one. Moreover, for minuscule propose modified formula Rayleigh beam which reveals competition mechanism between “string vibration” “beam vibration.” This may provide reliable theoretical basis precise characterization fibers open route lightweight, tunable manipulation devices.

Elastic wave velocities during evaporative drying
Laboratory measurements of drying rates and elastic wave velocities are made on limestone, dolomite, and sandstone samples during evaporative drying. The drying rate data are very similar in form. There is a constant rate period at higher saturations and a falling rate period below saturation levels of approximately 0.2. The falling rate period marks the transition in the sample from hydraulica...
متن کاملConnectin filaments in stretched skinned fibers of frog skeletal muscle
Indirect immunofluorescence microscopy of highly stretched skinned frog semi-tendinous muscle fibers revealed that connectin, an elastic protein of muscle, is located in the gap between actin and myosin filaments and also in the region of myosin filaments except in their centers. Electron microscopic observations showed that there were easily recognizable filaments extending from the myosin fil...
